  • Soquelitinib (CPI-818)

  • Soquelitinib is an investigational small molecule drug given orally designed to selectively inhibit ITK (interleukin-2-inducible T cell kinase), an enzyme that is expressed predominantly in T cells and plays a role in T cell and natural killer (NK) cell immune function. Soquelitinib has been shown to affect T cell differentiation and induce the generation of Th1 helper cells while blocking the development of both Th2 and Th17 cells and production of their secreted cytokines. Th1 T cells are required for immunity to tumors, viral infections and other infectious diseases. Th2 and Th17 helper T cells are involved in the pathogenesis of many autoimmune and allergic diseases. The Company believes the inhibition of specific molecular targets in T cells may be of therapeutic benefit for patients with cancers, including solid tumors, and in patients with autoimmune and allergic diseases. Recent studies have demonstrated that ITK controls a switch between the differentiation of Th17 proinflammatory cells and T regulatory suppressor cells. Inhibition of ITK leads to a shift toward T regulatory cell differentiation, which has the potential to suppress autoimmune and inflammatory reactions. 

  • Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder characterized by skin barrier disruption and immune dysregulation. AD, also known as eczema, is a non-contagious skin condition that can range from mild to severe, and is often characterized by red, itchy, dry and cracked skin. Areas of the body that are commonly affected include the face, inside of the elbows, or behind the knees, but can appear anywhere on the body. During a flare, a common symptom is an itch, which can lead to an increased urge to scratch. The itching can be unbearable at times, and as the patient scratches, this can cause skin tears, bleeding blisters, pain, and changes in the natural color of the skin. People living with moderate-to-severe AD have a higher prevalence of social dysfunction and sleep impairment, which are typically directly related to the severity of the disease.

  • The Phase 1b/2 clinical trial of Soquelitinib (CPI-818) for the treatment of Atopic dermatitis (AD) patients has been fully initiated. This clinical trial is led by Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Dermatology and is being conducted at 8 clinical trial centers across China mainland.

  • Peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) is a fast-growing type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It starts in mature T cells, a type of white blood cell that fights infections. PTCL can affect lymph nodes, spleen, skin, and other tissues. It's more common in Asia and has several subtypes, with varying symptoms and treatment options.


  • Mupadolimab (CPI-006)

  • Mupadolimab is a unique anti-CD73 antibody that blocks the production of adenosine in the tumor microenvironment. It also binds to B cells resulting in their activation and differentiation into antibody producing plasma cells. These attributes have the potential to augment both cellular and humoral immunity to cancers. 

  • Angel has completed a phase 1 study in cancer patients and mupadolimab is being evaluated in non-small lung cancer.

  • Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK), a nonreceptor tyrosine kinase, plays a remarkable role in the transmission and amplification of extracellular signals to intracellular signaling pathways. Various types of cells use the BTK pathway to communicate, including hematopoietic cells particularly B cells and T cells. The BTK pathway plays a role in controlling the proliferation, survival, and functions of B cells as well as other myeloid cells. First, second, and third-generation BTK inhibitors are currently being evaluated for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases in addition to B cell malignancies.
